Hey BF!

Was hoping that someone could post a photo of the Edge-U-Cation sheet that comes with the PM2 M390 bento box exclusive. I recently purchased one second hand and I have some strong feelings that I was duped, including the Edge-U-Cation signing off with "Thanx Much". Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, seems I was corrected. Thanks folks.

From a different dealer exclusive. Note the sign off.

Different run from the lunchbox emporium.

Both knives purchased new from dealers who had the run.

Thanx much is found on all of them.
Do you think the knife is a fake or just the paper work?

Both, but of all things that stuck out the most to me. It's my first Spyderco that I've gotten that slip with. My Native 5 that I ordered from knife center didn't come with one. So I am not familiar with them. There were also a few spelling errors so I was worried!

I appreciate all of the responses everyone!

I just checked my Cru Wear PM2 Paper (I bought it from BHQ) it also says Thanx Much so.

I'm no expert, but I dont remember the date on the hidden portion on my old S30V.

I could have not noticed though. Other more informed members will know with certainty, just looks off to me.

Edit to add

So disrespectful to counterfeit... even more so when the item includes father and son's makers marks. Not saying for certain yours is, but they're out there.

Well, the logo and lettering between the two are certainly different. I would count the number of jimping bumps on the choil and on the spine and compare between the two knives. They don't look like they will be the same, but the pics may be deceiving. And since you have one that you know is real, you could always do a side-by-side comparison of the two in some cutting task. I suspect if the one on the right is fake, it's edge is going to dull much more quickly.

Unfortunately I do not have one I am certain is real. The photo I used to make that split was provided by a friend on another forum. He has compared my photos to multiple sprint runs and the lettering just seems slightly off to me.

OP, I have a Bento Box Shop PM2 in M390. IIRC, they had their own little exclusive run because of the blue handles. I just pulled it out and compared my blade to the pics of the one on the right. Mine is exactly like yours. I did not take it apart to see if there is an inner date stamp, but the jimping top and bottom as well as the hole and the etching are all the same. I think you have a BBS PM2 in M390 and I do think it is real. Even the little indentation on the left side behind the pivot hole that you show in one of your pics is the same as what I have.

ETA: There may have been a blade swap into different scales if the ones you have are not blue. Also, the Edge-U-Cation paper may have come from a different knife. Not sure on that one.

Thank you! The person who sold it to me told me that that's what it is and the Edge-U-Cation papers indicate that that is what it is supposed to be. My initial nervousness stemmed from the "Thanx Much" (which I have since learned is entirely normal) and the lettering not being lined up. I have learned that that is also normal. But something still didn't seem right until a handful of you guys have convinced me to not worry!

To answer a couple other questions, I purchased the knife from a person on Reddit's Knife_Swap sub who had a pretty good reputation. I bought it for $140 knowing that the handle was not the correct handle, but a black G10 handle with black hardware was included. Also included was custom scales made by Knockwood Blades that I'm not sure what they are made out of, but they are gorgeous.

If you go to YouTube look for Paramilitary 2 clones. There are small things that the video's that will help you detect a fake. I bought one just to see it live and it was very accurate. The shape of the screws, the finish on the clip, the shape of the tab on the compression lock etc. Make sure you watch a few of the video's not just one. This information will be useful for the future. I just purchased a PM2 with CTS204p with green scales, it flipped well looked good. I took out my 10x loupe and saw that it is fake. that was a $240.00 purchase, I contacted the guy and told him what happened. He said that he bought it from a private person on a Forum.. Not this one and apologetically and to send it back for a full refund. He had gotten it for $150.00 and thought he made a score. If it's too cheap there is almost always some issue anyway good luck.
