Anyone put a thumb stud on a Spyderco Police?

I had a Police for a while but hated how much of a slow opener it was, so I sold it.:( Man do I miss that blade though! I wonder if there would be a good pivot spot for a thumb stud on it even though it has that huge hole...

I don't understand why it opened slow.

You could get one of those "one-armed bandit" attachments that people sometimes put on their Buck 110s, and maybe attach it to the inside of the hole (near the top/spine edge of the hole, not the edge-side...).

you could consider a military. similar size atleast and seems to open pretty fast from the videos ive seen. i had a police for a while, and it didnt open lightning fast, but it wasnt an issue

If it opened slow with you using the spydiehole it sure as hell aint gonna open faster with a thumb stud :p.

How long did you own it? All my Spyderco (and BM and Kershaw) knives have taken opening and closing them awhile to get them smooth opening.

Also, how would a thumb stud making it faster opening?

I find a thumbstud way faster for flick openings, because it smoothly "leaves" the thumb.

Conversely, a Spydiehole is way easier for slow openings, because it retains the thumb.

I'm faster with a 'slow' opening Spyderco than with a 'fast' thumb stud because I don't have to spend time searching for the opening stud with my thumb.

and make it double edge while at the "CM Spa"

Sounds like your doing it wrong. The spyderhole is the fastest/easiest way to open a folding knife, as fast as any assisted opening knife.
