Every Spyderco folder that I own (back lock, liner lock or ball bearing lock) opens fast. That includes the Police.
I open the knives by moving my thumb forwards, not sideways.
I always clean new knives thoroughly with dishwashing liquid. If the action isnt smooth after that, I apply a little bit of silver polish, open and close a few times and clean the knives again. When the knife is clean and dry, I apply a little drop of oil.
