Spyderco Police vs Police 3 G10, vs Endura 4 FFG

I am wanting a new knife for duty carry. Currently carry a Benchmade 810, but am looking for something a little more sleek as space on my person is very limited.

Not worried about the cost difference between them, just interested in the performance. This will be a self defense knife. I carry a multitool on my belt for utility use.

I will getting the plain edge in whichever model I choose, not a fan of the Spyderedge.

I am leaning towards the original SS police model at the moment, but can't seem to commit.

Thoughts?

I'm gifting an Endura to my bro in law (he's a cop) almost got him the police.

Kabar TDI. I can't see a folder for self defense. One handed, support hand weapon retention, is the only scenerio I could see using a knife for self defense on duty. For this a small fixed blade on support side. All other deadly force situations end with something louder. As for utility, yes your multitool, a folder, etc. Good luck.

The SpyderEdge is more effective for your purposes, but if you're still opposed to it, I would go for the Police G10.

I would go with the g10 police model if the other one is stainless. The endura is a great knife and the frn offers a lot of grip too. How do you plan on carrying the knife? Pocket? Pouch?

It will be in my offhand pants pocket. I actually tried the TDI years ago and was not a fan of having a fixed blade exposed on my gear.

I hear you. Maybe something with a wave then to assist in opening it. I find it hard to open folders with support hand... then add gloves, stress, adrenaline, etc. regardless good luck. I carried a spyderco police model for years and loved it. I used it more for utility though. I like plain edge for users that need to be sharpened often. I am not a huge fan of blades for self defense but if need be, I would go serrations. Think steak knife.

Carrying the knife tip up, if you put a zip tie through the thumb hole with the bulk of it on top of the blade, when you draw the knife from your pocket it will snag and open the blade.

I got this Lone Wolf Endura (waved) for my SWAT son-in-law. He loves it; carries it weak-hand back pocket. It's probably one of the better choices out there, particularly since you likely have a Glock on your person...
Just my opinion. I have heard that the stainless Police is a bit slippery, and I would probably stay with G10.
Thank you for your service.

Agree with Sonnydaze that the stainless handle is too slippery for what the OP intends it for. Waved Endura is very good, but practice waving it open before you need it.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. This is definitely a want and not a need. I have just always wanted the Soyderco Police model, but it does have some limitations as mentioned.

I may go with the G10 Police and consider it the best of the Endura line and Police line.

This will just be a late Xmas present for myself so there is no hurry. In the past I have stewed over this and just lost interest in making the purchase.

How bout the Ulize? Same general size as the police 3 g-10 but with a wicked recurve. And if I am not mistaken some of the money goes to kids of slain German police officers.

BTW my dad is a police officer and carried the original police for years, until he discovered the Military. He like it because its lighter and more grippy than the police model. Out of your choices Id go with the police g-10 though.

Want.

I have a second generation Police model that I carried for years. Get the newer model with the curved lock bar. I found that a firm grip on the handle would push lock bar down and almost release the blade. There is a name for the curved lock bar but it has escaped me. Great knife though, and I recommend it.
