Hello all, opinions wanted on this knife.Looks awesome, but how strong is this blade? Any known breakage problems? I must have this knife!! TIA

This is what Chai cutlery
http://www.chaicutlery.com/spyderco.html

has to say about it:

"R C67 - $128.00 (msrp $160)

Like some watches that show their works through their face, this is Spyderco's model that shows how it works. The blade is 3.5" of laser-cut VG10, and the handle is Almite (hard-coated aluminum). The cut-outs cause no apprecable loss of strength, but it's probably not the best knife for spreading peanut butter. Plain edge or toothy. The "R" does not appear in Spyderco's Y2K lineup. I have one plain and one combo in stock, 11/99. There may or may not be more in the pipeline."

As for my opinion - the Q I have is very cute - but it feels week in the hand. If the R is anything like it - then it's a good second or third knife - but not the primary cutting tool.

Funny thing - in the spyderco catalog
http://www.spyderco.com/knife/cat_cp67.html

it said it has an ATS-34 blade but in the spec. sheet it said vg-10???

Any way - I would love to have one - it's soooo COOL

Best of luck.

The blades are ATS-34

Master Chief - Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

None in the pipeline at this time. We're considering another batch at this time, maybe for next year.

I just can't seem to get enough of this steel.
