Spyderco Rc for VG10

A guy (Bushwackem) on another thread tested his spydercos at work

"Spydercos (Endura, Delica) I took to work (VG-10) & put on the macine came back Rc 60."
 
vg-10 on the spydeys definitely don't feel like rc 60 to me. the only thing that surprises me is how sharp such a "soft" steel could get.
 
I'm guessing the OP has a wire edge. Assuming of course, that he got to the edge with his sharpening. Well, I do have some experience with VG-10 at 20 dps. It does lose the edge fast. When sharpened to 15 dps and a coarser edge(800-1000 grit), it seems to be a whole 'nother performer.
