Spyderco Repair Kits?

Why are Spyderco Repair Kits for Enduras and Delicas being offered on eBay? Are these model knives in need of routine repair? Could the kits be used on older model knives without liners? If so, this would be a good way to stiffen up and flesh out a knife and not have to pay a premium price for a current model.

They are a standard item in our line. We began offering them with the release of the Endura4 and Delica4. The first Endura and Delica to offer all screw construction. When first released we had a lot of ELUs take them apart (not because they needed to, but because they could for the first time). However, taking them apart doesn't mean they can be easily put back together. We had a lot of people who lost small parts. The kits were/are offered to handle the issues with losing or damaging internal components.

I'm sorry the kits are only for the Endura4 and Delica4. They won't work on previous versions. We made a lot of changes in the 4th gen.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for fast reply. That is a good idea for new models. It is a good factory quality parts kit worth every penny. I have lost/ruined parts from other brands of knives in the past. Replacements soon added up to more than an offered kit. Good job.
