- - - - - Spyderco Rescue 79mm, Orange FRN, C45OR, Very Good + condition, no box - - - - -
The Rescue 79mm is a great knife to have for emergencies in the car, on a group trip, when serving professionally in SAR or some other duty.
Condition is better than Very Good, specifically:
* Carried but never used. Never sharpened.
Carried during Boy Scout water craft, rapids events for emergency use. Also stored in auto's door pocket.
* Several small pitted spots on the flat grind of the blade's right side, 0.5" from plunge line (see picture). Cutting edge was unaffected.
* A few random, very fine scratches on the exposed part of the blade when folded.
length overall 7.188" (182 mm), blade length 3.093" (79 mm)
blade steel VG-10
length closed 4.093" (104 mm), cutting edge 2.625" (67 mm),
weight 2.2 oz (64 g)
blade thickness .125" (3 mm)
handle material FRN
A smaller (and for many a more ergonomic) equivalent of the C14 93mm Rescue, it too has a flat saber-ground (proprietary serration pattern), SpyderEdge, VG-10 blade that ends in a sheepfoot safety tip. For smoother thumb rotation Spydeco enlarged the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole, which in turn creates a prominent hump to position the thumb on while cutting. The FRN waffle textured handle is available here in safety orange with an ambidextrous, tip-up pocket clip.
