Spyderco Resilience

A couple pics.

It kinda looks like large old Calypso. But not as nice.

I have to buy it - it is larger than police, which is COOL!

Can anyone post a pic of the liners with the lock engaged? I'm always paranoid about liner lock lock-up and thickness; just a side effect of my extreme anal-retentiveness:D! Thanks!

If the liner lock thickness/strength of the Resilience is anything like the Tenacious.. you're good.

According to the tracking info from Jeff @ CS mine should be waiting for me when I get off work today. Will try and get a pic taken with it and my Tenacious and Persistence.

Pretty quick shipping considering the knife left Idaho on 10/30 via first class mail. If it had ben Priority Mail I'd have been expecting it today or tomorrow but first class I figured a week at least. Good job Jeff!!

This knife is essentially a folding version of the Temperance FBs.

Here's a pic to show what I mean:

I really enjoying it.

Got mine today and overall I'm quite pleased. Thank you Sal and crew for another splendid Spyderco.

Pros:

G10 and scales are perfectly flush.

Lock up is perfect. When locked the trailing edge of the lock bar is flush with the leading edge of the blade tang.

No blade play.

Opening is smooth as butta. My Gayle Bradley opens like it's gliding on ball bearings. This is so close to it that it's scary. The second smoothest opening Sypdie I have and I've got quite a few.

She shaves hair effortlessly

Cons:
Blade isn't perfectly centered but on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being perfect this one is a 9+.
Grind is worst I've seen on a Spyderco. (Please bear in mind that given the usually stellar quality of Spyderco products even the grind on this knife is head and shoulders above many others I've seen and owned. Just not up to par with what Spyderco usually turns out).

If you hold it just right you can see the right side of the blade has a grind line, for lack of a better tem. You can't feel it but it looks like when they were grinding the blade they either changed the amount of pressure significantly about mid way down the blade or else they lifted it off the grinder and set it back down.

Primary bevel is somewhat wavy/uneven. Mostly at the very end and near the base of the blade.

I find none of the two cons I listed bothersome nor unacceptable on a knife at this price point. It's large, appears quite solid and feels good. I like it!

is there a danger that southpaws like me could accidentially unlock the liner ?
it looks like it could happen easily due to the cutout.

It doesn't look any more likely than any of the other liner lockers Spyderco makes. From the left side the liner is flush with or perhaps slightly below then the scale on that side. If the knife were to roll in the hand I guess it could be an issue but that could probably be said for any right hand designed liner locker.

Exactly my concerns also, as I've never been a fan of liner locks. None the less, all things considered, she looks like a dandy deal. My money has been sent off.

Received mine yesterday, the lock is set perfectly. I would trust this liner lock, as well as any other models. This is one cool knife, I will purchase another one for sure.
Great job Spyderco!
