Spyderco Rock Lobster...

Grabbed one of these a couple days after Spyderco announced it had been discontinued. Always wanted one. Hell, I just love that it's called the "Rock Lobster." It's one beautiful knife and very unique.

Glad I saw this thread - this has always been one of those knives that intrigued me, but couldn't quite pull the trigger given the price. But once I saw it was discontinued, did a little hunting and got one for $130.

I really, really am drawn to this one. There's just something so right about this kooky design. Handle ergonomics look a bit strange with that cut out, so I'd have to hold it before purchasing.

It's something of an odd-duck and discontinued, as others have mentioned. If you find one at a price you can deal with, jump on it! Most of my collection is Spyderco and the Rock Lobster has become an instant all-time favourite... ;)

i got one mainly because i like Jens Anso's knives. i like the fact that it is razor sharp and weights next to nothing. its also very light! pretty cool knife, but i cant figure out why it costs so much

I got one about a month ago, it's different for sure. People usually either love the look of it (me) or hate the look of it (my gf). The feel in the hand is awesome. I also dyed mine black, dig it even more now. I only wish that for the money it would have an S30V blade instead of VG-10. That being said, if you're looking for a great value knife I couldn't recommend it just for that; but if you have the money it will be a great addition to your collection.

A vastly underrated blade. This knife has been in my top three daily rotation for a while. along with a Sage 1 and a Case Peanut, depending upon the locale. I will say the spine itself was sharp on mine. I lightly broke the whole back edge with a stone. I am not a huge fan of serrated blades, but I think the Rock Lobster might be a prime candidate. I have lusted after, acquired, and then boxed and shelved quite a few . The Rock Lobster lived up to it's promise!
