Spyderco Rock $115

Original owner. Shows faint marks from being inserted/drawn from the sheath. Extremely little use. Never sharpened. I whacked the flap of a cardboard box about three times and chopped down 1 weed in my backyard before deciding this blade wasn't for me. A minor roll or two in the edge could easily be sharpened out, which I tried to capture. Ergonomically brilliant, just a bit large for my purposes.

Considering you stated you the original owner & the knife has only cut a flap of cardboard & 1 weed, I am curious as to what caused the rolls to the edge?

Spey-

If you read between the lines in my description, you might detect a little disappointment in the properties of VG10...if so, you'd be correct. On the other hand, it's entirely possible I hit a rock while chopping the weed. Either way, I disclosed the rolls for transparency and my description of the knife's history is accurate.

The fact remains that the damage is minor in nature and can easily be repaired, I just chose not to because I figured the next owner might have a better idea, his own, of how to go about that.

ZuluKilo,
Thx for the reply. Yes, I read between the lines your possible disappointment in the blade steel performance (assuming you may have hit something embedded in the cardboard though). Appreciate the "disclosure" AND also the honest photos that show some amount of the rolls. I've had/have a number of VG-10 knives and not had a bad experience related to quality of the steel (knock on wood ...), hence my related question. Possibly hitting "a rock" would cause a roll though. Thanks again for the follow-up related to the knife.

Regards,
