im new to the forums so sorry if this question was ask already but im thinking of buying a ronin for a self defence knife . i like some opinions on this knife please THANKS

I have a Ronin, like it a lot, wear it a lot, little on the heavy side. Some people don't like the sheath but i don't have any problems with it. VERY sharp, very Good Stabber but needle tip is NOT for prying. Good steel, great quality and u can use it as a belt mounted knife with the clip. For myself it's a keeper. The ronin is an excellent little knife, made of premium materials and a fierce cutter. The thin, flat grind helps it slash deeply - I had a fun time testing it on bananna tree trunks (plentiful and renewable where I live). The fine point on the blade penetrates well plus is useful for many things like getting splinters out. It "sits" more naturally in my hand with a saber grip than any other knife in my collection.

It is a little heavy for a neck knife (at least for me) and the sheath construction could be improved - i wrecked the aluminium tension screw trying to adjust the fit.

The coolest knife ever. Wish I could find an original.

The sheat is better then most custom knife builders sheaths. It is the ultimate utility knife. Probibly kiskes but for self defence. I own many knive, however I use the Ronin every day. Moved the wallet to the back left pocket. Keep the Ronin in the back right pocket. Works great. Get one you will enjoy.

You might also look at the Yojimbo. Its basically a folding Ronin. With a zip tie in the thumb hole it opens like a waved Emerson.

Try search function and look what forumite Nemo had said about it.
