Spyderco Sage 1

I purchased one on the used market that was chop-shop Dremel waved. Don't get me wrong, I knew it had been waved when I ordered it and I knew that the work was done by a reputable forum knife modder. However, just cutting a wave into a blade does not a "waved knife" make. It only deploys about half the time and only with the utmost effort on the part of the user. Actual factory waved Spydies are effortless to deploy. Lesson learned. Great knife though. Aside from the crappy Dremel job, the fit and finish is top notch. These Taiwan Spyders rival some of the Seki stuff. Amazing.

World class Fit and Finish!!
Outstanding ergonomics!!
Perfect size!!
Will be made with a variaty of lock systems so something for everone.
I have the I & II and will be buying all future Sage models.
They are that good.

I love mine! I posted about it (actually, them) here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=787288

I was never a fan of carbon fiber scales because they are so slick. However the scales on the Sage have a nice grip to them. Not sure what Spyderco calls this type of pattern maybe bi-directional.
Fit and finish is top notch. Ergonomics are awesome. Materials are top notch.
I'm pretty picky but cannot find any find any negatives.

Got my Sage 1 on Monday and have been carrying it for a few days. It is a SWEET knife. I also like my Sage 2, which I got just a couple weeks ago. I like both of them very much.

Look at what I found nestled in the carbon fiber! (just kidding... my crude photoshop)

check ebay, i've seen them listed for $95-$99 shipped. in fact just ordered one from there because of threads like this one!

Mine just came in yesterday! I have only used it on a couple things so I can't speak to the hard use aspect of it yet. But I can say that it fits my hand like a glove, it slices through cardboard like butter, the carbon fiber feels and looks amazing, the opening/closing is glassy smooth, and there is avsolutely ZERO blade play. I can already tell it's gonna knock my other knives out of my pocket for a while. I got mine new for under 100. Just do a google shopping search and it should be hard to find for that much (:

everytime i read something like this it pisses me off i don't have one yet. what was i thinking waiting so long

I've had my Sage 1 for 100 days now and have put it though some hard use.
As usual with all Spydercos it is a work horse and can take hard use. Looking foward to taking it camping in the Allegheny Mountains in Feb.

Sage 1 is one of the best spyderco knives hands down. I love the sage one so much that I got 4 of them. I have never done that with any other knife period and believe you me I own a lot of them.
