Spyderco Sage 2 vs. Bradley Alias vs. ???

Get the sage, then the alias, then sell them both to buy a Sebenza, that's how my collection has been going. Keep buying mid-range knives i'm interested in until my collection has gotten big enough to afford me something better! I see it as a mixture of rental and layaway.

Thanks for the info blade community! that three sisters forge beast is well.. a beast. nice blade indeed, that post will be my next stop. By the way, not offended on anyone's behalf or anything, sure didn't want to spark some heat or anything... I appreciate all input, that's part of what makes these forums so cool. I know for me blades do make me biased sometimes.. Don't know if it's good or bad, but it's part of it I guess..still new to the forum. and here i've been having conversations with myself about the cool factor of microtech OTF's for how long?? thanks for the help fellow blade nuts, really glad to be on the forums - hayes

no worries dude, thats why we're all here and why these threads are somewhat necessary. sometimes you just need to shout out to the community with a quick "which one would you choose" thread. we know you want both and you cant lose with either choice... you just wanted that little push/enabling from the forum to assist on making your final decision. fair enough and if people dont like it they can go pound dents in teh poops.

nothing wrong with being bias or following a brand religiously... whatever floats your boat, just try to have fun here :)

Ha ... you sound like me. I have a small sebenza on order, but also a sage 2 and an alias 1. Only, I'm not selling any of them as I love them all. I also have a sage 1.

Replying to my own thread after several months.. Couldn't buy a blade due to money issues for a while but I finally ordered my Sage 2 monday and it turned up today. I'm pretty darn thrilled, love this thing, it does feel really nice in the hand and the quality is what I'd expect from Spyderco. Can't wait to carry it tomorrow and every other day.. But now I want three sisters forge beast as well, and every other nice Ti framelock for that matter.. Thanks a lot guys.. Really, this forum is awesome!

I guess it is sebenza time... this addiction is just terrible!

I actually just bought a Sage 2 instead of a Small Sebenza. It is a little bigger than the small Sebenza(which is too small for me) and a little smaller than the Large Sebenza. The quality, fit and finish are outstanding. The ergonomics are great and the price is a bargain for a Ti frame lock of this quality.

I'm surprised people continue to get the Alias when others have been reporting problems with them for years.

For me, a big reason for the many forums I visit, is to avoid faulty designs or ones the manufacturer has shown they can not properly execute with reliability.

Same goes with the Hest folders...several people say they purchased one even after seeing all the bad feedback but act almost surprised that theirs was crap also. What is the logic being used?

I think the Alias is still great. Had mine for a long while now, and I like it even better than I did at first.

There are no "faults" with the Alias. They are made by Benchmade, covered by their lifetime warranty. If anything is out of spec, they will fix it.
Mine didn't need anything fixed. It was better than perfect right out of the box.

I LOVE my Sage 2.

It's incredibly sturdy and can take a beating. I have carried it as my smalled EDC blade almost every day for 5 months and it's held up with no hiccups. I abused it a little as well, and took it better than some knives I had that were larger and so called "stronger" than the Sage 2. I have a feeling this little titanium jewel is going to out last me! :D

Now with all that said, I still wouldn't rule out the Alias 2. That thing has been on my list for quite sometime and I plan on getting it when I start slowing down on my custom knife binge.

Either way you're going to be a happy camper!

Check out the acies2. Love mine.
Also check out grayman dua. Love mine.

Sold off all my other blades and kept these two.
