Ok so I have hated spydercos for some time and told myself I would never be caught dead with them....... BUT!!!!

I want one.

I love the delica full flat ground and the gray is the best of the colors, so I come to you, community of edged blade addicts, to either talk me out of it, or sell me on it and force me to pull the trigger.

It would be in my edc rotation

GO!!!!!

Why have you hated Spyderco's? Was it just the looks that didn't appeal to you? I used to feel that way, a while back. I wasn't interested in them at all. Today, they are possibly my favorite knife manufacturer (possibly). But if you really want to love Spyderco, get yourself a Gayle Bradley, Manix II, or a Paramilitary (I or II).

Or get the ZDP-189 Caly III

Edit: I would highly recommend that you get one of the higher end Spyderco's. If you don't like it, you can always sell it for little to no loss.

The delica works fine for me, though I prefer a slightly bigger knife like the Para 2 for EDC.

Don't buy a Delica 4. You buy a Delica and the next thing you know, you'll want to try an Endura also. And then you'll be thinking about getting a Sage. Since you have a Sage, you'll need the *other* Sages. Then you're going to want a Millie. Next comes the craving for a Manix or a Native, but you're probably going to end up buying both anyway. It may not happen in this exact order, but rest assured it *will* happen.

Spyderco is crack for the knife enthusiast. Just say 'no.' ;)

Great... now I want a grey ffg Delica 4 to go with my blue one...

why not just go for the endura, i want one so bad but lack the funds...saving for something...else

Aw man, I looked because I thought "Seduction" was some sexy new model they were introducing. :grumpy:

When i first started getting into knives i thought spyderco's looked ridiculous. Now i have well over 20 and are some of the most well designed and thought out tools specifically designed for cutting ive come across. Just buy the damn thing

The Delica is one of the best all around knives around. The new FFG ones look like they'd be great slicers too, go for it! But once there is one there will be more.

Don't buy a Delica - Buy a Caly 3.5 instead!! It's virtually the same size as a Delica but has a 3 1/2" blade:D

Seriously, I used to hate Spydies as well. Then in the late 90's I bought an FRN Dragonfly to see what all the fuss was about - and the rest is history. I own close to 50 Syderco's now and see no end in sight for the obsession.

As for the Delica - It's one of the best EDC's you'll ever own. Light, thin, great steel, and durable. You'll love it.

I'm just saying, you're eventually going to want to get one of the premium spydercos. It's more cost efficient to accept the fact that you'll move on from the delica and just save up and buy the one you really want now.

 He speaks the truth. My first was an E4, Then a digi-cam Military and Para military.

Just look for some deals. Pick up a new one from a reputable website, and then look for deals on the trade/sale section of the forums. Like everyone said you will own more than one very quickly. I bought my first last may, and now I have owned about 8 models. I traded a couple off, but still I own 7. Started with a Manix sprint, then got a g10 delica, then traded for a para 2, picked up a UKPK, searched for and got an S90V para sprint, then traded for a military...too big and got a couple knives and a stretch. Also picked up a salt 1, traded for a sage 1, and got a Chicago. Now I am looking at possibly getting a Gayle bradley and a new manix sprint.

Unless you have no internet and massive amounts of self control, prepare yourself for owning a few new blades. They are all awesome though and you will enjoy having a nice edc rotation.

Clicked thread to find new Spyderco model - fail!:grumpy:

Spoutz as a new potential Spyderco owner?

:D

Ok. I have ridden uni-cycles and juggled midgets (maybe even "consulted" with Farm Animals) I draw the line with talking someone in or out of a knife purchase.
A Man has to draw the line somewhere

I'll talk you out of the Delica, but then I want to talk you into a Manix 2 or Paramilitary 2.

Very true.

I started out with a Delica 4 FFG, too. It's not a spectacular or flashy knife, but the more you use it, the more you'll appreciate the knife, and the more you'll like it. For spectacular, there are always knives like the Manix 2, Paramilitary 2, Sage 2, and Gayle Bradley.
