As a self proclaimed spyderco snob and one who appreciates the cutting abilities of spyderco knives, I was wondering about an unusual irregularity I noticed on one of my finer acquisitions. I was lucky enough to purshase from Spyderco's website a numbered J D Smith C58BMS on closeout. I was thrilled to be getting such a cool knife for such a great price. When the knife arrived, it was better that I had expected, beautiful linen micarta handles, silky blade, this knife is definately a collectors piece. One thing I noticed immediately, the serrations on the knife weren't perfect. I own 12 serrated spydies, have drooled over countless more and have never seen an irregularity such as this. It is hard to describe and I guess the best way I can is it looks as though the wheel that ground the serrations jumped and there is sort of a notch on the first five serrations starting at the tip, probably about 1/32 inch.
Has anyone seen a spyderco serration like this?
Honestly is does not look like it would affect the cutting ability and I'm not whining, I just want to know if there are any thoughts?
