ss :grumpy: Today I got my knife back fromm Spyderco which was sent of to have a new blade put on. So I thought. I broke the knife while on patrol back in 1998 attempting to take a tag off a vehicle. Don't waste your time I know that was stupid. Anyway, I finally decided after all this time to send it back and have a new blade put on. The service department said ten dollars for the repair and five bucks for the shipping. Sounds like a great deal. Well, it was not what I expected. They put a lady bug blade in my Delica! Well thats what it looke like anyway. What they did was to shorten the the blade so they could make a point, then sharpen the knife. All this time I'm thinking a new blade for fifteen bucks. What a fool I am.:grumpy:

I don't think Spyderco offers blade replacement because of the riveted pivot. Makes a re-grind pretty much the only option. Could you post a pic? I almost laughed out loud when you described the Ladybug blade.

Wow, that's not what I would have expected. I heard many opinions about Spyderco's customer service that noticeably differ from your experience. Maybe you should ask over at the Spydie forum if they could it.

P.S.: could you post a pic of this knife? It's just too funny to imagine a Delica with the blade length of a Ladybug. :)

I just noticed that Harry Callahan was faster.

While it would have been nice for you to have been told that it would not be having the blade replaced, what they did is mentioned in the warranty.
