How do I go about shipping a knife to Spyderco to be sharpened? The edge on my PE Paramilitary is getting a bit dull, and I'd like it to be back to scary-sharp, but I'm not much of a sharpener.

What I'm wondering is, do I need to call them first and set something up, or do you just mail the knife in to some address with a note inside? Also, how do you know how much money to send?

The sharpening is complimentary they only ask you pay for return shipping $5.00 I think is the going rate.

It would be a good Idea to drop them an email or give them a call first as a heads up and if there are any other specifics. Spyderco has great customer service they will take care of you.

all the best,
Jason

Thanks for the replies, guys. I was really hoping to hear from the actual Spyderco people. Actually, kind of disappointed that they didnt bother to respond. Oh, well.

Granted. Note, however, that they've responded to other questions, during the interval. It's not a big deal, anyways. I could probably just try sharpening it myself, but... God, I'd hate to screw up such a nice blade. :)

LeeCQC,
Sorry, Sal and I are both out of the office. I've been on, but I don't make it in every thread as quickly as I'd like to.

To be honest, rackness was dead on.

Please send your knife in to W&R and include all of your contact information and a note that you'd like it sharpened. The charge is just $5, that covers the return shipping to you. There is no need to call ahead, but you can if you'd like to have an idea of how long it might take.

Hope this helps.

Kristi

Get a sharpmaker. You an become good at that in just a few hours.

Plus all of your kitchen knives will be sharp, too.
