When you say "new", I presume you mean unused, uncarried, etc. Is this the "new" CQI version of the Siren or the original version?

Yes it is new and unused. I would assume it is the original version as I got it late 2020/early 2021. I'm not really sure the difference between the original and CQI. Thanks.

Probably not the best place to ask, but do you know if spyderco would fix the backlock issue on an old used one if sent in or whatever?

Yes they will….actually they’ll replace the knife. Just fill out the online warranty form & send the knife back to CO. Details can be found in the Spyderco section of the Forum.
