Spyderco Slipits

It's a well made slip joint to my understanding so use common sense on what "hard use" should and should not be and you should be fine. There are plenty of us who have beaten up slip joints in the past and they have held up well. Just don't expect to be able to baton through cinder blocks all day long, use as a pry bar, and other stupid stuff and you be fine.

I just picked up the Spy-DK yesterday at my local cutlery shop. I owned a Squeak and was absolutely in love with it until it jumped out of my pocket on Black Friday at work and went missing. Replaced it with a Pingo and have been very happy with that as well. The Spy-DK has the stiffest backspring I have ever dealt with out of box, so much so that closing it requires two hands. In contrast, I can close the Pingo with one hand and usually do. I feel completely safe using it due to this and the presence of a choil to keep it from closing on my fingers. I haven't had a chance to expose it to hard use but I would have no qualms cutting cardboard or strapping with it. The N690Co steel is amazing in terms of edge retention on my Pingo and I expect the same for the DK.
