I bought this brand new just last November, but I'm clearing out the collection, as might be evidenced by my recent sale of two non-flipper Hinderer's as well. This has never been carried, sharpened, etc. It came out of the box, sliced a sheet of paper, and then got placed into a safe. It was smothered in oil, direct from Spyderco when I got it, and I just wiped that off. However, I assume the bubble bag that it came in still has oil in it, and the knife will most likely come out smothered in oil again. LOL. So, please don't be alarmed, and just wipe it down.... I'll even provide the receipt in case you ever need warranty coverage. We're talking about a brand new knife essentially.
