Spyderco Southard, Pocket clip poking through jeans

Hoping for a ti hourglass for the second run. I will then pester Charlynn into selling me one for my Southard :D

Anyway, you would have to ask Brad to change his style. If you look at his custom work he has clips that are exactly the same.

I don't know Brad Southard, so I would have no problem telling him to his face that the pocket clip is too sharp at the end. It's very painful to lift the clip up with your finger when pushing the knife into a pant pocket. The tip needs to be made blunt so you can easily lift it up without getting stabbed.

Honestly, the clip is the only thing about this knife that is in the way of knife perfection.
 
The first time I pulled mine out of my pocket I was pretty disappointed in the design.
 
dude just round that sucker down with either a dremel or a belt sander flipped over. Then stone wash it to take off the burs and the shininess of it. This is one of my favorite knives but im finding i carry it less over customs. Time to get a custom scale and over-travel so it'll get more pocket time.
 
I had problems with my Southard's clip stabbing my pants as well. There were some pants that I couldn't even get the Southard to clip into without it being a massive hassle, so I went ahead and bought an STR clip for it, and I couldn't recommend it enough. It is such a major improvement over the stock Spyderco clip, and I think it's a must have for the Southard.
 
So I'm guessing I'm one of the lucky few who didn't have any clip problems and love and enjoy every molecule on the Southard?

hey now, knives are cutting tools, this sharpened pocket clip just adds a whole new dimension of cutting performance.
