No regrets...

Nice pic! :)

maybe ill try the southard again one day but its 0801 for me all day long! sold my southard rather quickly

I really really love both, 801 flips better, the southard is lighter can be opened with thumb hole and just had something about it I like (took me a couple of days to really appreciate it)

Both are keepers for me

I prefer the Southard in this case. I like that it has a g-10 scale for better grip. It also felt better in my large hands. I would give the flipping action to the 801, not by much though. Both are exceptionally smooth.

The Southard has a thinner grind, which again, is In my preferences.

Weight isn't an issue, I carried a ZT 0200 around for a time.

If I'm going to spend the big bucks on custom knives, I'm going to look for talented makers who haven't cut production deals yet . . . guys with last names like Davis, and Laconico and Gedraitis. To my way of thinking, they need my support a whole lot more than the Todd Rexfords and Brad Southards of this world. And they make great knives on top of it! :)

Have you heard of this guy

Rick Hinderer

we should buy more of his stuff so he can stay afloat. :-D
