Spyderco Spy-DK or DragonFly 2?

Greetings to everyone! I thought I'd ask your opinion between two knives that I was looking at. I wanted a secondary blade to carry with me when I'm in an environment that is knife unfriendly. I wanted something small and "cute" looking like the orange Spyderco Dragonfly 2. I was also looking at the orange Spy-DK. Both are around the $50 range. I was sort of going back and forth about which one would give me the biggest bang for the buck, since I feel $50 is a little bit too high for either. I was leaning towards the SPY-DK because of the bigger blade and more unique blade steel. Of course, the Spy-DK does not lock but, I'm not sure a locking blade is all that important to a knife this size and it's intended use in this category of knife. I would be very interested and appreciative in all of your opinions and reasoning on which one would be a better choice. Than You!

These are two knives I too have been eyeing. This thread is relevant to my interests.

Regarding the price, there are some considerations:
- Premium blade steels (VG-10 is no slouch!)
- Incredible warranty (They're fast and helpful)
- Superior build quality (Solid lockup and laser sharpness out of the box. Accept nothing less!)

I've handled a Dfly, and found it to be a bit too wee for my hands. I'm very interested to hear / see comparisons to the SpyDK, as my current slip joint is a Böker 440C Ti Subcom that, while nifty, doesn't quite "do it" for me.

I have a Dfly 2 in G10 and love it! Also check out the UK Penknife. Little larger than the Dfly but still very sheeple friendly

That's a good deal. I have a $50 Amazon gift card so, I'll probably use it to buy one of the two knives there. If I had to spend my own cash, I would definitely get that black handle DF2 at Blade HQ. Thanks for letting me know about the great deal! Blade HQ is one of my first go too for knives. I always has very good luck with them.

for anyone else wondering about the comparison. I don't have a dragonfly, but do have the spy-dk. Really good size handle, I have smallish hands but even for someone with big mitts, it should fit well. Very slicey, much more so than the Dfly I would guess. Steel is alright, I don't think thats a big differentiation factor. And the action is smooth and solid. If I wanted a little utility then the Dfly would get the nod, but for stuff like food, the spy is a very good choice.

The UKPK would be worth a look if you want a large spydie hole.
