Spyderco STRETCH FRN

Nice choice, the Stretch is a modern classic!

Micarta sounds extra tasty as well.
I really enjoy the FRN Stretch, but might have to consider a set of these scales!

Beautiful work.

OK... yeah... I got the designation wrong. I'm not at all familiar with the Stretch model. Thanks Sharp Guy for keeping things accurate!!

I've edited the original post...

Not that it counts for anything but, as far as I'm concerned, you got it right and Spyderco got it wrong. :D The original Stretch was all stainless with Kraton inserts. The CF, FRN, and NG versions were all a bit larger than the SS one and all the same size as one another so, IMHO, they should all be called Stretch 2 variants. Given that, I contend that the new, larger yet, G-10 version that Spyderco calls the the Stretch 2 should really be called the Stretch 3.

I received deltaoutdoorsman's evaluation on the closure strength of the G10 back spacer and I most definitely will need to incorporate the pinned lower tang.

It is a simple fix and I should of done the design work first go around. The knife is coming back to me for the MKII back spacer remediation. I'll photo document the fix and post it up as soon as I get er' done!

Oh oh.

YOU JUST FIXED THE MAIN PROBLEM I HAD WITH THE
STRETCH........:D:D:D

FRN.:barf:

I got my stretch back and I can say it is perfection. The closure strength is the same as factory now and the black G10 with coyote liners are the perfect combo in my opinion.
I have the stretch 2 with the factory G10 and I have to say that I like boomer's version better. It has all the extra rigidity and grip without adding much weight.
Of course what is really great is that since I'm a lefty that boomer can taylor make a set of scales that are pure left handed goodness.
It really is some very fine craftsmanship. Which you don't find everyday.

I need to add myself to the list for pure left handed goodness scales!!! Just picked up a Hap40 stretch, and it could use g-10 scales tapped lefty style. I'll keep an eye out for preorders.

Is this still a thing? My Hap40 Stretch, Never gets carried! I need some scales!

A set for my Sage 5, as well..

Both in OD Green.. (gotta match my lil para Delica, Delica, and Native 5 scales, from ya Steve!).

Troy,

If you actually want OD green that can happen no problem. I have the right thickness in OD green.

BUT... I just happen to have acquired small piece of medium textured SAGE Green G10 HOWEVER it is only .116" thick so if I were to use it for scales for the Stretch I would need to laminate colored liners to get it to the .160" needed.

As for the Sage 5... I do not have files to machine that one.
