The Spyderco Stretch is my favorite Spyderco design. I own the ZDP-189 Powder Blue with a plain edge and the VG-10 Black with a fully serrated edge. For me, these knives are perfect. I like the light weight, size, blade shape, ergos, full flat grind, and the four position pocket clip. I would love to see a Ti framelock Stretch in CTS-XHP or M4 steel! Any other big Stretch fans out there?

Not yet, but I just ordered the ZDP-189 in green so I'm going to give it whirl.

The Stretch is a great knife. My favorite Spyderco is the discontinued Chinook.

In my view, the Stretch is in the top 2 or 3 contenders for "best" EDC Spydie. Both the FRN and CF flavors are about as good as it gets when it come to ergonomics.

Over the past 5 or 6 years I've purchased a lot of the latest and greatest new Spydies.
The Stretch is my favorite one of all, I have yet to find one that's as comparable. :D

My compliments on your good taste. :) The Stretch is my favorite primary EDC and has been since the original version came out 6+ years ago.

I too am a big fan of the Stretch. The ergos are perfect for me. The shape and grind of the blade combine to make a wicked slicer, and it covers 99+% of all my EDC needs. I admire and use other models from Spyderco too, but the Stretch is a fave for sure!

The Stretch2 appreciation society is a large and growing organisation :D I have two of the CF ones - both in the rotation

But like EMT_Lee, I got to say that the G10 Caly3 wins any 'Best Spydie' contest

I think the Stretch is perhaps the best edc knives I have owned.
I have a CF/ZDP and a regular VG-10.
The Cf is the most beat up knife I own. :D

Next in line would be my ParaII CF S90v...Love that knife for bigger high torque jobs!
If the Stretch has a (subjective) weakness it is here.

Recently I bought a G-10 Police and I have to say it is by far the best carrying big folder I have ever owned.
It gives up some utility to the Stretch , but it rides in the pocket nearly identical to the Stretch.

All these reports of the Cali 3 make me want to get one and try it out. :D

I love my stretch (British racing green, zdp-189) IMO the stretch is about as good as you can get for a EDC lightweight slicer.

If they added about 1/16th of an inch to the belly of the blade, the stretch would be my favorite.

I like the look and design.. but haven't grabbed one as I can't see how it is better than the P2 and I've slimmed my rotation to two knives (Military and P2). Also, I'm not a big lock-back fan. I don't do anything with a folder that I need that much of a lock. I find the compression and liner lock to be far better for "folder" tasks and one hand open/close. They tend to be much smoother to open too. YMMV

My Stretch just arrived today (FRN plain edge in VG-10), and it is definitely in the running for my favorite Spydie. For the longest time, I resisted getting anything bigger than a Delica because the only Spyderco knife I'd been able to handle in-person was an Endura, which was just too big for me (felt ungainly, with my smallish hands it looked like I was opening boxes with a dagger, and probably wouldn't pass muster with my NKP college classmates).

The Stretch takes pretty much everything I like about the Delica (useful blade length, easy to carry size, perfectly designed pocket clip) and Dragonfly2 (full flat grind, choil) and combines them into a slightly bigger knife. I like it, though I will still use my Vic Tinker around NKPs.

Glad to hear you like it! The Stretch is one of those knives I always come back to,it just feels right.

I own three of them -- it is a great general purpose knife and is right there in my Top Twenty user list :D

This is one knife that just feels good in your hand when you pick it up and grasp it. The ergonomics are excellent.
