Spyderco Stretch?

My Superblue Stretch is very smooth, as smooth as any Delica or Endura I've handeled. I always assumed it was the same construction, but never actually had it apart.

Based on having taken an FRN Stretch apart, and having seen FRN Enduras and Delicas disassembled, I'd say that's a fairly safe assumption.

my Sb stretch came in the other day, it was rough feeling when deploying and and closing the blade but i added oil, and it smoothed right up and ill take it apart and clean it in the next few days

other than that, the knife is awesome, and i like the frn a lot more than i thought i would.

My super blue Stretch should be here tomorrow. Got a SB Manbug today, though. It came slathered in oil, which is fine. Better too much than rusty!

i think youll like it. Mine feels real good and so far its doing great, but yesterday wasnt a too cut heavy day, just shrink wrap.

I really like Spyderco's FRN. It's totally functional, lightweight and to my eye, very cool looking in a no frills kinda way.

I'll note that the Frn on mine was jutting inward enough to provide traction to the place no matter the pivot screw tightness

Quick remedy was oil. Long term taking the knife apart and trimming and sanding which I should be done with. Scales are drying awaiting re assembly

I'll probably give Spyderco a call as having them fix it would probably be easier but I wasn't sure how they do that for a discontinued sprint run. It wasn't a big deal and I can make the adjustments fine. It's just I shouldn't have to on a new knife that's in this price range and new.

Not a knock on Spyderco in anyway at all as I've had a few and this is the worst problem one has given me and I didn't give them the opportunity to fix it. Can't diss a company's product for qc or w/e if you don't give them the chance to fix it

Just to follow up real quick it's back together and smooth

Did some light polishing and no friction and the knife is very smooth

Now I just gotta get some bench stones

The frn on my sb stretch feels better than I thought, I had a salt so it had frn but I don't remember loving or hating it

The gray blueish color looks better than in stock photos also. I was thinking of doing the g10 swap down the road but I think I'll be okay

Before you took it apart maybe you should've tried to work with the retailer where you purchased it about doing an exchange for one with characteristics more to your liking.

Glad to hear you got it worked out though.

What G10 handles were you looking to swap to, going custom?

Another good point speeds

I've done hand fitting before so I figured why not.

The real kicker was there was one locally and I called to ask the price and they said they didn't have one. I was up there the other day and they did and it was smooth. Oh well the knife guy wasn't there when I called

I really liked the wood grips and I saw the one someone got with bolsters

Maybe someday but the frn on this one has me a happy camper and I'm not in a rush to change what makes me happy
