Spyderco Techno and Spyderco Chubby..are they worth it?

Yes, they are both worth the money. Overall quality, fit and finish is top notch.

+1

However, I must also mention that while I love the Techno, to me, its more about its 'uniqueness' and aesthetics than its cutting performance/capability. It's a short blade with thick blade stock and it's by no means an ergonomic wonder like the aforementioned PM2. Same with the Chubby. It just depends on what's most important to you.

My hesitation on the Techno is the metal scales. In my experience, metal scales tend to be slippery or slick - especially if I am working in the rain or my hands are wet. Anyone used a Techno in wet conditions?

I find my finger slots nicely into the recess for the spyderhole and 'locks' in place and the jimping on the backspacer adds traction.....It's such a short knife you'll run out of blade length before you run out of grip

There is a short list of knives I've sold quickly, eventually bought again, then sold quickly again. The Techno is one of them.

The materials and quality justify the price, and you won't doubt that when you hold it, but I just can't bring myself to carry it. On paper it is exactly what I want in my pocket at all times, but in hand it just doesn't work for me. Its a great knife, but it all comes down to preference.
