I got mine in S30V, because that's what was available at the time. Had the other steel been available, I would have given it a shot. I have no issues and no regrets. I have many knives in S30V so I knew it would be up to anything I can throw at it.
 
In my use CTS-XHP steel from Spyderco has proven to hold a fine edge longer than S30V steel from Spyderco, which in turn holds a "working edge" longer.
 
XHP all the way. So much better, doesn't chip like S30V.
 
Had no issues with all the s30v I have, but given the choice.......CTS thank you!!
Have it on my Domino and it is a dream!! Easily sharpened, by a know nothing noob, to a screaming edge and definitely holds it!!!
