I attempted to do some filework on my tenacious. Im looking for constructive criticism and tips from people more experienced than myself so i can improve on my work in the future. Please disregard the work on the pocket clip. It was my first attempt at filework and is a little wonky(i thought i could just eyeball it. bad idea). I think it might look even better if i sanded it. would the 3m sandpaper that comes in a roll be good for this(80 or 100 then 220?)

It is looking good!
Everything loosk better with sanding of course. But if I were you I would not even look at 80 - 100 - 220 grits! The detail is too small for that. Start with more like 400 and then work up trhough 600 - 800 - 1000 - 1500 to 2000 and polish it. That's what I would have done.

That looks really nice man! My blue tenacious is looking plane now haha. Maybe continue it down the rest of the blade too :) Also the work in the clip from what I can see isn't that bad either. It's for sure better than my first attempt at filework.

Nice work, OP!

I have no wisdom or guidance to impart. Just wanted to say "good job"...:)

ohhhhh fancy! i like, keep it up i can only imagine yourself getting better and better with experience.

@dongbeiren i used diamond coated needle files. the reason is stopped where i did is because the files were pretty much wore out by that point. honestly i didn't even think that this could be done on an already heat treated blade but someone here on bladeforums told me it was possible. so thanks bladeforums.

@ SOC_MRN_Leon i got a set of 12 (six cross cut and six diamond coated) needle files at lowes for around fifteen bucks i think but shopping around on the internet ive seen sets of diamond coated files for much less. if you are going to try this yourself beware that it is neither quick nor easy. that patten took me around two and a half to three hours(but im also a beginner and was figuring it out as i went along) but don't let that discourage you. I say go for it.
