Spyderco Tenacious, WoW!

Sometimes the agenda reaches past the original thread.

True, but I think in this case we can pretty safely grant this thread "thoroughly derailed" status.

More on topic, I received my first tenacious today, and unwrapped it as I was reading this thread. The quality of this knife seems quite good, it is fairly large without feeling bulky or heavy. The Tenacious does not open quite as smoothly as my Delica, but then again, its only been opened a few times. All in all a well spent $32.

Sometimes the agenda reaches past the original thread.

If you'll kindly take note, it was a comment made about a Kershaw product being a far better deal than the Spyderco product discussed in the OP's post that started the minor derailment. Nevertheless, I could have behaved a bit better and am sorry for participating in the derailment.

Regards,

I was curious, so I ordered a Tenacoius, and it came yesterday. It is larger than I expected, but it opens smoothly and locks up like a bank vault. Nice shape to the blade, and I think the flat grind will do some serious cutting. The G10 scales aren't as nice as some of my other Spydies, but it provides a good grip, and the clip is movable for just about any carry method. It came shaving sharp out of the box, and I'm looking forward to putting it through it's paces shortly.

I bought it from a vendor on the site, and I am pleased with the knife, and the service.

Too bad it has the damn bat man pocket clip .

Agreed, Kershaw makes some fine blades with some fugly clips.

What up with that?

I’m going to have to disagree with an earlier post. And many subsequent posts concerning the pocket clip. You guys seem to think it’s a Batman clip and a Star Trek clip. I would contend that it more reflects the futuristic Star Wars theme. Star Trek and Batman are old school.
The JYD more reflects these older themes. For example The Flintstones or something in that time period.

Most of the Kershaws are great knives. But for some reason they just go hog wild on the clip. The Tenacious is a great knife as is the Storm. But I’ll be damned if I walk around looking like a 13 year old on my way to a Star Wars convention. That being said, I have the JYD, Speed Bump (most sloppy clip I have ever seen). Of course just my opinion. Many love em and that's cool. Freedom of choice is swell.

The Tenacious has a great blade shape, good steel for the price, G-10, rock solid lock up and a super fast thumbhole with a grown up pocket clip. Kershaw, don’t take it personal. Just consider it Constructive criticism. I’m not the first to express these opinions.

Still love KAI.
But I'll have to go with the Tenacious on this one.
What was this thread about again? ;)

Got mine this week, and it is a great knife. Would be a good knife at a higher price that along with with user friendly ergos, nice weight, useful shaped bladde that is razor sharp out the box and locks up like a bank vault. Money well spent.
