Times are tough. So I went the economic route and brought my dad, my brother and brother in-law a Tenacious for Chirstmas and santa brought on for me.

Wow, this is a great knife for the money. Those guys are gonna love their gifts, I sure love mine. Spyderco could definitely get away with charging $80. I got 4 for $120. I'm smart.

Next time you checking out at your favorite online knife dealer toss a Tenacious in your cart, you won't regret.

I also got one of those mini benchmade knife sharpeners and it is also pretty awesome. The thing is tiny, it's is smaller than my house key.

:(:(:(:(You make me sad...I just misplaced my Tenacious the other day. I'm still hoping it will turn up. Maybe Santa will bring me another one?:D

I find the Kershaw Lahar (Seki City) a better choice for the same price than the Tenacious (China).

The Lahar is much beefier, with similar ergos, and made in a higher quality manufacturing area than the Tenacious.

Don't ignore the Lahar if you like the Tenacious.

I have much more expensive/exotic spydercos, but the Tenacious is in my pocket. Good ergos, sharp and no worries about losing it.

From newgraham.com:

Kershaw Lahar= $62.50

Spyderco Tenacious= $31.18

Where'd you find the Lahar for around $30? I'd like to get one for that price.

The Tenacious I saw was about $40, and the Lahar was about $55. Maybe I didnt search for the best deals, but for the cost difference, I still stand behind the Lahar. Tip up or down, VG-10, G-10, flipper, big blade, excellent ergos. Even its its $30 more its 3 times the knife, so its a better deal in my opinion.

Tena is a greatdbargain for that price, no question. Good ergo, more than acceptable edge holding an easy resharpening - China or not, it's a good knife. :D

The Lahar is an excellent knife, a level above the Tena! It is a stronger knife, with better edge holding, but for double price. And some people don't like the recurved edge...
I have them both, and I love them! :D Oranges and apples, you know...

I asked for the Tenacious for Xmas. I just saw them yesterday for $26. What a deal! I handled one at a gun show and decided I had to have one.

I bought a couple when they came out. Darn good knives for the money, you can't go wrong.

I just ordered a Tenacious off of ebay. Cheapest "buy it now" was $31.99 + $4.81 shipping, though better deals might pop up. Probably would have gone with New Graham (though with shipping theirs would be in the $39 range), but they were out of stock.

Too big, and I really don't like the blade shape. I'd stick with the Tenacious. Buy 2 or 3 for the same price as the Lahar ($26 vs. $65 is what I saw on my discount price place).

Have a Spyderco Tenacious, but after reading the thread and looking up the Kershaw Lahar... Had to order one.

Spyderco Tenacious 32.95
Kershar Lahar 49.95

Yeah, I'm going to be getting one of these myself. Can't resist at 26.99 (www.cutleryshoppe.com price). My dad has one -- awesome quality, blade shape, etc. and the lock is extremely solid. No doubt the Lahar is nice, but I have a big preference for the blade shape, grind, price, etc. of the Tenacious. It would be a great knife deal at twice the price.

Tenacious is the perfect EDC. Ergonomic, sharp and stays that way, stays in your pocket when clipped, opens fast, easy to sharpen, and around $30 on eBay and other venues. I think of it as a more affordable Delica on Steroids :) Or maybe a watered-down Mini Max. I just wish Spyderco would offer something with a slimmer blade profile like the old Buck Taclite or CRKT Convergence. Closest thing I've seen is the JD Smith knife with a very slippery handle.

I do not have a Tenacious.

But...Tenacious...$32.95....

Native....$39.95....

I mean really. Better steel, better manuf. facility...that whole China thing...

There are a ton great knives out there for around $60, but the Tenacious is better designed and 1/2 the price. It is a lot like the Manix. I like a better than my Delica and it's running neck in neck with my Griptilian, it's bigger and more egonomic than the native. Don't judge it before you hold because it feels really good in your hand.

The Lakar looks pretty cool but the Tenacious is more like the Cyclone or the Junkyard dog.

I've never handled one (Native), so I just go by how they look in pictures... and to me, the handle looks sort of clunky, and I'm not a huge fan of the shape of the blade.

But, the carbon fiber version looks really nice. Both the handle and the blade.
