Spyderco Tenacious

The Tenacious has a full flat grind unlike some of the other Spyderco's that are commonly waved. I wonder how this will effect the blade strength once waved.

Yeah
Well I think the steel will be able to hold up to "waving" for awhile. This knife is really more of an expeirament then a new EDC knife. But if it works well I will have my new EDC knife.

Spyderco makes some of their knives waved, but I don't think the Tenacious is one of them. Pity.

I would like to know how this works for you if you do end up doing it. I would love to go after a salt like that and i happen to be in the posession of a dremel and lots of free time:D.

I will tell you how it goes. I am thinking about buying a Spyderco knock off to try it on to make sure it would work well.

Hi Ben,

We don't recommend breaking the opening hole. The integrity of the strength is compromised with such a modification.

A sharp edge is a potentially dangerous thing and a sharp edge really needs the strength of the blade that supports it.

The way Spyderco makes its "Emerson Openers" was designed, tested and engineered to keep the integrity of the blade.

That is why i'm going to try it myself with a knock off. And once i'm sure it would work I would most likely send it to STR.
