Spyderco Tomahawk?

Do people really want a tomahawk that bad? I seems counter to spyderco's product line as it is so specialized.

Spyderco has made some pretty quirky, specialised designs in the past ... Gunting, Maddox, Dyad, Ayoob etc. Albeit many of them haven't lasted. I like their willingness to have a constantly changing catalogue.

I posted in this thread on the spyderco forum and i figure it is only fair to post my support here.

I am all for the idea of a spyderco tomahawk or field hatchet. As far as to what steel should be used i am not the most knowledgeable so i will leave it up to the steel junkies. I would just prefer that it be a tool grade steel, and that the handle material would be suitable for heavy cutting jobs like clearing brush and cutting small trees if it was necessary. Also splitting wood would be a common task.

I think it would be pretty cool to have a Spyder-hole incorporated into the design somehow.

It would be great to see Spyderco make a version of Laci Szabo's fighting hawks. They are unique, very cool and effective looking and since there would be a little history there with the Szabofly already out it could be a ready made deal.

Like a finger hole on the bottom, inside curve of the blade for when one is choked up on the handle.

There were some problems with the HI version. The hand-made by 3rd world smiths didn't work as well with something needing uniformity for hafts...
