Spyderco Warrior has a loose guard, is this a known issue?

Just got the knife, it's beautiful, well made, well thought out, really love it. But when putting the knife down it made a rattling noise. Closer inspection uncovered a loose guard. Is this common for a Warrior? I will contact customer service Monday, just wondering out loud I guess.

Never had one but I'm certain that's not normal. Did you get it from an authorized dealer?

It was from a well known online source. Should I notify the dealer or go straight to Spyderco?

Send it back to where you bought it, like anything else. You take it back to the place of purchase and explain why it is being returned.

^Yup. spyderco would take care of you but sending it back would be the quickest and simplest solution.

Mine was lose too, I tapped it carefully with a hammer when I got it for a press fit.
