Are you the original owner? I ask because the scratches don't look like they came from the sheath, but rather an abrasive pad of some type.

Yes I'm the original owner, I purchased it from DLT. I used it for cooking one time and wiped it off with a paper towel. The paper towel may have been rough, but it was more likely the sheath. Either way the scratches are very light in person
