Spyderco Wegner/Ocelot

Good people, who has a Wegner or an Ocelot, i am trying to buy both in the near future if i can find a Wegner, any pros or cons on these too models, i realise the ocelot is the latest wegner collaboration, any info or pictures would be great, cheers Dave
 
Love them both. BUT, the Wegner Liner Lock wore out the fastest of all liner locks I've ever used - wore to the right scale in short order. Get the Ocelot. Backlock, cheap and solid. Can't go wrong. Just the "pugs" pick up dirt, so be ready to clean it after dirty work.

Thanks for the info on the Wegner, how did the liner lock wear out, were you able to get if fixed, cheers David

I'm a big fan of the Ocelot. Ergos are great. I don't pick up much crud in the pugs - I actually get more dirt in the spine and choil grooves. It's worth keeping an old tooth brush in your knife care stuff for cleaning when necessary.
 
My wegners still lock up solid as when new.They make that solid satisfying click every time they're opened.
 
The Ocelot is a terrific knife with great ergonomics. In fact, I was so impressed that I bought two. :thumbup:
 
I also bought 2 ocelot's, the knife is SOLID!! I love the "snap" it makes when I open it!

The ocelot has an excellent choil and a better lock...
However if you want the perfect version of those two knives...
Then pic up a blade tech pro hunter... Still the Wegner design.. But more refined.....
I would say ocelot or the blade tech pro hunter......

I have to admit I bought the Ocelot because of the paw print. Now it is my favorite EDC. The size and shape of the handle and blade fit my front pocket just right and it has maintained it's sharpness extremely well.

I do not have a a Wegner but do own a Military, Paramilitary, a Tenacious (great value),the Ocelot and...let's just say for me, the Ocelot fits me and works great for me.
