Spyderco would make a killing if they made a Paramilitary equivalent of the Manix LW

The idea just occurred to me.

BD1 steel, FRCP scales, with a price similar to the Manix Lightweight...it would be a record breaker.

I know a lot of people hesitate with the PM2 because of the price. It's definitely worth it though, I just got mine today! I think a lightweight version would sell even more than the already popular model.

I prefer a bit of weight to my folders. Personally I find the current pm2 to be almost too light for my preference.

I like the weight personally too, I just thought FRCP might cut down on costs a little since Spyderco uses very high quality G10

Plus with a compression lock you have to have liners where all the other lightweights dont

Agreed. It's almost scary how light that knife is when considering blade length and lock strength.

I don't think it would work because you would have to have liners or at least one side for the compression lock as stated above. And....I wouldn't want a Para with a different lock.

The Para 2 is almost perfect. The only improvement I would make is a low ride pocket clip which can be purchased.

I don't find the Para2 to be very heavy, so not sure it would be needed.

Now a Para2 in S110V??? Yes PLEASE!

I think the weight is just fine. I am carrying the S110V LW Manix 2 right now and I think it is interesting for its very light weight but I think I like the weight of the PM2 better. I believe they sell all of the PM2's that they make so there is no incentive to bring out more models.

No reason to.

They are on their game with the PM2.

Just slap on some silly colored scales and a funky steel and
ALL THE KOOLAID PM2 drinkers will buy it.
A lot like what Ford does with Mustangs.
It is still a mustang.

As for the LW Mainx. Only complaint are the damm rivets.
I have a BD1 with adjustable pivot and not being able to do a Full tear down sucks.

Also. All Manix's are fully ambidextrous unlike the PM2.

Just wait till you need to use it in your left hand but you are a Righty.

Ball locks and Axis lock win.

I have had 3 PM2s and they are a Meh ok.

Actually Spyderco hit a home run with bases loaded on both those models! Like my Father used to say, (if it works don't fix it).;)

The weight of the current pm2 is part of the excellent package of compromises that makes that the best edc knife for many people.

why a light model? you could walk around in your boxers with a regular PM2 on you. get a delica or endura if price is an issue.

Agreed. I'd prefer it had full liners, a lanyard tube that was not flared, and one more standoff and screws. I like it as is, but not enough to have a bunch of them as I usually do.

Could have a liner on one side so the compression lock can be unaffected.

I meant mainly to reduce the price and make it more accessible to more people.
