Spyderco Yojimbo, Paramilitary or Boker Kwaiken o

Are you carrying the knife at work where non knife enthusiasts are going to see it? If so the Yojimbo. It looks less threatening. It snaps open with great authority. The non knife enthusiasts are afraid of my Matriarch 2 "what's that for?!!

Well of course I know what it's for.... For cutting rope!

Good luck on your choice. Personally I love my Yojimbo.

Just picked up the pm2 on Friday locally. The guy at the counter said that they just got them in from a february back order! I really like it so far, and tested it out as a skinner Sunday. It did very well. Just watch out for the tip, it's like a needle!

My friend whose been a knife enthusiast for most of his life told me to take a look at the Spyderco Paramilitary as well. From what I understand it's pretty similar to the Yojimbo, as well. what are your preferences out of the three knives: Yojimbo, Paramilitary, and Kwaiken.

Yojimbo is pretty unique.

I don't have a Paramilitary 2 but they're well loved. I like the Manix 2. For something lighter with that much blade the Stretch isn't bad. For something more stabby the Police is good too. Spyderco doesn't really make a bad knife. The Manix 2 stands out to me as a great knife with a great lock. I tolerate liner locks but prefer the Benchmade style axis locks.

But I'd probably take the Kwaiken over the Yojimbo. It really is a lovely knife and something I will hang onto despite it being less convenient than most of my knives.

I've had one Yojimbo...sold it without carrying it.
I've had many PM2's and I love them, especially the compression lock. It has no equal, IMO.

Hi everyone,

I'm debating between either picking up a Spyderco Yojimbo, Paramilitary, or Boker Kwaiken as my new EDC knife. I was wondering, if anyone has experience with any of these knives. If you've owned or currently own one of them. Please share your thoughts.

Thank you,
Thomas.

Here is my suggestion: Pick one, any one of them (PM2, YO2 or Boker) and Buy it. Then buy the remaining two at a later date. If you only want to buy One Knife for EDC, then I would recommend the PM2 as it is a more versitile blade.

Thanks again to everyone for their contribution. I picked up a Paramilitary 2 a few days ago and I can now see why Spyderco's are so well loved. I will look into the Yojimbo in the near future. Thanks again to everyone :).
