who likes having the zip tie on your spydercos? I kinda like it but not really sure if i like the look... hwat do you guys think?

I'm not into the Emerson wave feature, or its analog on the Spydies, but to each his own. Many folks do the zip tie thing.

My opinion is that it is simply ridiculous. The knife opens up easily enough with the proper grip, adding a piece of plastic looks gaudy.

I haven't tried it, but I really don't need my knife flipping open out of the pocket like a gunslinger from the old west. I'm happy enough using my thumb. Also, it does look kind of gaudy.

I tried it out once, just to see if it would work. It did. I hate the looks of it though, and i dont need the extra speed it offers.

yes i dont need it either and not too found of the looks but it is fun to play with but dont really like having the little plastic peice on my blade

+1 Prop....
It works well enough but I REALLY don't like the way it looks. And I'm not nearly mall minus enough to think I might NEED this to save my life someday.

Ok, checked it out.

Why not go one step further and duck tape the open knife to the hand.

it really is tacky looking. if the wave feature wasnt designed into the knife then it just doesnt look right. but i do like using the wave. even though it is just to amuse myself

Would this possibly be a niche that could be filled by a nicely machined device to clamp on when speed of the wave is wanted? Made of very high quality materials I could see this as a nice non-permanent mod.

I like it. It may not look great, but I like having the extra speed and convenience for my work knife.

I have a zip-tie on my Spydie karambit. It works perfectly on that one, like it's made for it. I also have a waved Endura, which I enjoy carrying and using at times, but I'm not a humongous wave fan.
