Spyderco!!!

I'm having some mixed feelings myself. I've been largely impressed with Spyderco's offerings, including knives I've myself owned. This includes two PM2's. I'm also on the now famous one year long wait for the green PM2.

On one hand, I can feel pretty pissed about lack of these products. On the other, I greatly appreciate their commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Overall, they have the "good problem" of being in demand. They're doing something right for sure.

Yeah, I'm annoyed that it's so hard to get a hold of PM2 but at the same time it's one of the best knives of its kind on the market if not the best of its kind. I'm willing to wait, but the wait is beyond reason.

Hopefully they'll eventually find a way to increase how many units they can pump out

Just watched a paramilitary 2 go for $90 on ebay, USED! Blade centering was awful! I guess people are desperate, lol!

Spyderco wants to get these backlogs cleared as quickly as possible, while maintaining their typical attention to detail and quality. Sometimes things go awry, and part of life is dealing with those challenges with patience and focus, while keeping one's perspective. I'm sure shortly our frustrations will all be forgotten. My sense is that they are working as hard as possible in Golden with good will. As with much, the devil is usually in the details.

Can we please have more Paramilitary 2's??? I want about 5 more and I'm really tired of waiting. I'm new here, and I'm sure this thread has existed before. But really, is there a reason why these are so far behind on production?

I heard that they broke the mold for the para2, that is what caused the back-up.

First that's a different model not the paramilitary 2. Second of all it's also breaking a rule to have the link.

I also heard from a dealer that a machine part broke and the replacement (somewhere out of Europe) would be a few months.

It's not like there aren't a lot of other Spyderco's you could buy in the mean time. :D

When the Para 2 does come back to the marketplace and demand is caught up with, what will the new price point or average retail price be?

While I agree that I'm waiting for an opportunity to get a PM2 let us remember that they are producing awesome knives for us and we should remain appreciative! If someone desperately needs a knife there are plenty out there, the PM2 isn't the only knife in existence (though I'm sure there are a few who would disagree, haha). Otherwise, be patient and let Spyderco do what they do best!
