I need a spyderco in my collection and I'm not sure which one to buy. I'm looking for a good EDC one but also with good quality and a decentley long blade.

Gayle Bradley, PM2, or Manix 2. The new Positon by Brad Southard looks promising, its still on pre order.

i have 3 manix 2 one g10 dlc blade (love it, perfect size) one xl g10 s30v blade, and the translucent blue lightweight bts carpenter steel. there excellent blades for multi purpose use. the pm2 is also i have two of them. i would recomend a manix if your going to carry and use on a daily basis the blade has a lot better of a belly and is more broad and it is a tough son a gun. but you cant go wrong if you choose one over the other. another good one is the pacific salt. its based off the endura 4 but i like the blade tip its got a sheepsfoot sort of blade to it and its completley rust proof from the blade steel to the screws and all. its crazy light and a hefty sized blade too. good luck with what ever you choose. you wont be dissapointed

What do you plan to use it for? jeans and a t shirt work knife? suit and pants sorta deal?

For an all around knife I'd go for an endura, or para 2. For something a bit fancier maybe a chaparral.

What do you mean by "decently long blade"? For 3" blades try a Delica. For 3 3/8 try a Manix 2. For 3.5" try the Paramilitary, For a 3.75" try an Endura. For near 4" blade try the Military or Manix 2 XL.

If it's your first Spyderco I would go with one of the classic models like the Delica, Endura, Police, Caly...etc

Start with a Delica, and then if you like that upgrade to a PM2.

Pick your length ...

Delica - 2.88"
Native 5 - 3"
Mannix 2 - 3.37"
PM2 - 3.44"
Gayle Bradley - 3.44"
Stretch - 3.5"
Endura - 3.75"
Mannix 2 XL - 3.88"
Military - 4"
Police 3 - 4.35"

Take a look @ the Slysz Bowie. It's a very well built ti-framelock w/ great blade steel and it takes up minimal pocket real estate. Great looking soundly built blade.

The Pacific Salt Serrated Edge it's my favorite Spydie and I'd really recommend it to anyone, for anything. Just perfect if you want any of these things or many of 'em:

- Great ergos, comfortable handle, strong grip

- Solid lock, easy to operate, ambidextrous

- Pocket clip, interchangeable

- Lightweight (only 3 oz. for almost 4 in. blade!), slim, unobtrusive, thin

- Interesting steel: fun to learn and experiment with H1, really. Rustproof, tough, easy to sharpen...

- Amazing cutting performance: cuts like a chainsaw and then some more. Nothing stands up against its brutal teeth, and the plain edged portion of the blade allows for precision and drawing cuts

Some pics, this thread needs them!:
