Spyderco's Gin 1

GIN-1 or G-2 blade steel in it's day was a decent steel in it's time but now with all the great SuperSteels we have before us I think maybe it's time has passed>> Unless it's a Spyderedge>> because the two Spyderedged GIN-1 blades I still have aren't that bad at all. I also had one RENEGADE model with a combo edge as it was one of the later models of the RENEGADE and it was a nice folder in it's day but again with all the newer supersteels out there it's a no-brainer.

But I will always like GIN-1 for Spyderedged blades>> I also liked AUS-8, ATS-34, ATS-55 and VG-10 for Spyderedged blades as well. To me it seems like some of your more rugged steels that have just a bit more ductility seem to do really well with Spyderedged blades IMO.
