I have a limited titanium Bob Lum Spyderco tanto and I was wondering aside from the fixed blade Lum is this the only tanto Spyderco has ever made? I love mine and want a black blade one but I missed out when I bought this one and they are just too pricey now...I think my next purchase will be a plain edge black para-military! Love that Spyderco!!

Besides steel handled or the PE or CE folding, or the black blade Lum tantos or FB Lum tanto yes the Ti is the only one.

There was also a G-10 black blade C46 produced with a combo edge. (At least, that's what mine looks like)

Okay, there were 6 flavors of the Lum Tanto folder made. Mix and match the Ti and G-10, the PE and CE, and satin and black blade.

Yes, Ti with satin blade in PE and CE, G-10 with satin blade in PE and CE, and G-10 with black blade in PE and CE.

Weren't the G-10 versions produced with a couple of different steels? Mine is VG-10, but I thought most of them were ATS-55.

Good point Bruceter. Very few collectors realize that the final batch of the C-46 Lum Tanto folder were made with VG-10 blades. They are a tough find for sure.

Yep the only tantos to date produced by the Great Spyder Factory are the C-46 tanto folder in all of it variants and the FB-08 fixed blade tanto.

I like it in a way too because Bob Lum's Tantos are the best in my book

I must agree...I love my Lum tanto and would like to get another but they are few and far and the $$ is just too high for me right now....I only paid 100 bucks for my numbered ti and I couldn't find another that cheap on any planet! thanks for the reply guys...I am new to the site and am loving it so far!!

Glad you are having fun...what is with the new Hitler Avatar?

I wish one of the new designs would incorporate a tanto blade. I'm a huge tanto fan, and if ever there came about a Manix-sized tanto, I would be all over it!!:D

Stumbled into a vendor, Portland Expo last Sunday, selling a Lum Tanto Titanium PE NIB. The first one I've ever seen in person. Top drawer. Elegant. I can see the attraction. Passed @ $175 and regret it.

All the best,
