I know of a plain edge version, but would like owner input on this model before i get it!
Any input appreciated>
I'd like to know how durable it is & what owners think about it.Both positive & the negative.
thanks,regards,rick.

Never had one, but I've heard it was a little difficult to put back together. Apart from that, it's supposed to be very well made. Ask JD Spydo, he's a big fan of them.

I finally picked up a used one off the Bay. It is well worn on the outer setting of the slip joint pliers (where I normally have it for compactness of carry). The closer setting (usually what I use when I use the pliers) is still pretty tight, and works very well. The bits are all in good shape, even after I have been using them for a couple of months (I usually destroy cheap bits in a matter of minutes). The adjustable end wrench also works quite well, and compares favorably with a Crescent brand wrench. The lockup is solid on the knife blade, although ,to be honest, I never use it as a knife (I carry knives to use as knives, I carry this as a tool). It is a solid, well made tool, seems to be quite durable. I'd say, if you can find one, buy it! :D

It isn't difficult to put back together...at least mine isn't. I don't EDC mine, because it was expensive, LOL. I carry it on my days off from work, just in case I need to do a little bit of light work on something.

The main pleasure, IMHO, is using it in front of people who have only seen Leatherman or Gerber multi-tools. "Hey, what is that??" Is a common response. Of course, that can happen anytime you use a Spyderco product :D

I used to carry one daily at work, but found that often I needed the more narrow plier ends found on other brands, and the various pieces come out leaving you with a handful of exactly that...PARTS.

I carry a Supertool now, and it's KISS design is better suited for my tasks. The Spyderench has supreme techno-geek appeal, though.

The only consistent complaint I have heard of is the lack of ergonomics but I don't own one so i can't really say. Good luck to you!
