I am eyeing the Spyderflys on the exchange forum

What is everyone's honest opinions on the Spyderfly's versus say another balisong brand(any)?

I have 2 VG-10 Spyderflies I got way back when they first came out.
As far as Balis go there pretty good. Iv got 2 BMs as well as a few others from here and there.
I proabably like the Spyderflys more altough the BMs carry better being a more traditional shape.
The SF has the Spyderco wire clip so its easy to carry about and dosnt need a sheath but
its huge in the pocket compaired to the 32 morpho (thats the only other Bali i have with a pocket clip)
The SF has got good weight to it for flipping with the extra "spyderholes" on the end of the handle and means you can do a few extra tricks too.
Im not crazy about the blade shape but it does work well with the handles as a whole so its not that bad.

The one I actually use has held up really well with years of flipping  and dropping :o so I say its woth having one if your into your Balis.

I have 2, I love them.

compared to the BM42, it's heavier and longer, so you have a better tactile feedback of what you're doing. Great for beginner/intermediate flippers.

I prefer my Spyderflies to my BM42.

its good if your a beginner cuz it rotates so slowly that it looks like its in slow motion. I also love the shape of the blade and the handles. The over all shape is bad ass although like mentioned before, it is a slow flipper so if you wanna do super fast stuff, you will be dissapointed.

BTW: its friggen sharp as hell! Watch your fingers. The good thing about this is when it does bite you, you don't really feel it, you just start to bleed.

i can compare it to a typhoon bali, which is what i have also, ad its certainly better
also i like the design more, looks very good, feels good in the hand..
the only problem imo is the latch...ive borked the spring and now its just swinging around...and also can easily be broken by dropping
and, i doesn't lock opened, but i dont care for that in a balisong
