So a few months back, I got a Native III. I adore it. I've carried it every day since. It's clipped in my right pocket as I type this.

A month or so later, impressed with the quality of my Native, I purchased a Goddard. I don't carry that one daily, but it's my "woods" folder and it serves its purpose beautifully.

Today I ordered a Calypso Jr. and a blue-handled PE Harpy.... I think I'm turning into a Spyderholic!

Anybody else here (like I have to ask :D ) addicted to Spydercos? What was your first, and were you as enthralled as me?

Yeah it's going to take way more than 12 steps for me. It started with the purchase of an older GIN-1 Mariner. From there it got much worse. The "Jess Horn" C-38 was the one that really got this addiction deep down in my blood. The one that sealed it was the big DYAD C-44P&S. I still have that one for an EDC but I have 5 others for back up. That's when you know you have gone over the edge. When you have to have back up units for virtually every Spyder in my collection. I am doing the Forum every night now though. That is the first of my 50 steps. I wonder if Dr. Laura would understand.

Addicted? Oh hell no! I really needed every one of the 30+ Spydies I currently have. I started with a Delica and never looked back. ;)

You know you are right "4 ster" if it is a necessity then it ain't a problem after all. We all need air & food don't we? Well if you don't have a real need for a Spyder, then that is when you really have a problem. It's really hard for me to realize that there are some people that live without a Spyder in their life. Their life must be very empty. :(

Hi, I'm Yog, and I have a problem ........... ;)

My first was a Ladybug, the second a Military. Talk about opposite ends of the scale. :D

My problem's worse. I've got the Ladybug and Millie and a whole lotta stuff in between. Only thing really lacking is the bank account balance.

Ok, maybe the "multiple syndrome" i.e. 3 Jesters, 3 Delicas, 2 Horns, 2 Enduras, 6 Natives  etc. etc. does indicate a slight problem  - but I really needed those variations :D

Oh 4 ester!!!! Man oh man can I identify with that symptom. Referring to my BUU's ( back up units). I have 5 BUU's for my big Dyad. I have 4 BUU's for the Massad Ayoob. I have 3 BUU's for the JD Smith. I even have 2 BUU's for the little Dyad. You see lack of security is a major indicator of this wonderful disorder. When I find a model I like then all I can say is "Lookout Ebay here I come"!!! :D IF you or a loved one suffers from this problem then get a dealers catalog immediately :D

My addiction started with a Older plastic clip Endura. Then on to a Police,Gunting,Civilian,Renegade....................................................

Chains,

You say addiction like it's a bad thing. No addiction here! Bought my first Endura, an FRN SE model back in 1993. Over 200 Spydies later - no problem! I can quit any time I want (right after this next trip to my supplier.....I mean dealer....uh my source....err Spydie connection. Damn! Even the language of the Colorado Cartel is a self-defeating prophecy. Screw it! I need to see Mike, my Spydie pusher, over at the Army Store for a badly needed fix.) :D

Hi, my name is DiALEX and I'm a spyderholic. :footinmou
From my experience, it's not that difficult to stop collecting spydies. I know some people who do it all the time ;)

Addicted to Spyderco's? Honestly how can anyone become addicted to buying knives? I mean look at my case for example I bought my first spydie, a Persian, almost a year ago. And now I only own five... I mean seven... I mean... ohhh um, nevermind:D. Well look at it this way, the more money we spend on spydies the less we have to spend on-

How bad is it if I can't think of something to spend money on other than Spyderco's?

I wonder now if the Government is going to make the Great Spyder Factory put Warning Labels on each box that your new Spydie will come in. You know kind of like the warnings they put on booze & cigarettes ect. Don't ever give a Spydie to a guy who is behind on his child support!! :D

yes, a picture of a bum laying in the gutter begging for money "THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL BECOME WHEN YOU COLLECT SPYDERCO'S", some variations, Simona dragging a shoppingcard filled with empty cans thru the streets of prague . "SHE WISHED SHE NEW IT BEFORE" or UK KEN "CHRISTMAS PICTURE 2004" or me in my prisoncell drilling a hole in a prison made shank "IT' S NOT A SHANK IT'S A SPYDERCO"! :D
Probably the only one who will make it will be Samo , but just because he married a rich girl ! ;)

Can't.... stop......

First off, it was a blue-handled Sypderhawk I ordered, not the Harpy... I figured that out real quick when I received it today and it was BIG. Not BK9 big, but BIG. Obviously not a Harpy. Then I looked at the invoice and discovered that I'm not only addicted to Spyderco, I also need to pay more attention to the titles of stuff I order from NG...

Heh.

So for practice, I ordered a Centofante III and a SS Sypderedge Endura.

I'm hopeless. Utterly hopeless.....

Yes, I am one too. i started when a liitle boy named Goodard Jr was looking to be adopted, so I took him in. Since then the family has grown to over 300 plus spydercos( Yes alot of doubles). Recent purchases are salt 1 Yellow, Terzeuloa Jr in G10 and aluminum handles, Dodo Black.
