Spydie Civilan Owners sign in here.

Two G-10 Civies. One with a repositioned clip for left hand EDC, the second in the knife drawer kinda like a savings account. (there's an impossibility, a Spydie lover with a savings account).

Matriarch in left hand pocket of "slop-around-the-house" shorts. Second one on order.

Integral clip Merlin modified by the addition of a pocket clip on the off-side for left hand carry.

Cricket carried in any free pocket (not many of those these days)right or left hand. A "parking lot" knife. Something to have in your hand while unlocking your car and getting in.

Man I've had every version there is over the last ten years or so. I've finally settled on the carbon fiber, (I LOVE highly polished CF), plain edge with a Sastre faux carbon fiber neck sheath. The serrated looks even more wicked but I like the plain edge. Great "wow factor" knife and a Civilian of any type is a must have for a true knifeknut. Yeah, watch those tips! They are so fine they're delicate. I dropped one on a wood coffee table a few years ago from only about a foot and it completely blunted the tip!

There are several "Spydies" in my collection....

I have one of the early Civilian versions - got it when they first came out. It stays in the drawer though! :)

I even have a set of "Evolution" Spyderco Workers from '92! :D

My civie came in the other day.
wow!!!!
This is about the best lock back I have ever had. It's really one mean knife!
Don't know if I will carry it or not. It seems like something to put away for a while

I have the older aluminum/rubber handled model. I switched out the rubber-backed clip for a regualr one, for faster draw, since I don't need to carry it under several layers of clothes upside down as a hideout piece.

It's my carry folder for everyday, and it's a backup self-defense tool. I carry a mutlitool on my belt for utility and a custom small fixed blade as my main SD carry.

Once, the cilivian was all I had on me, and I was forced to use it in a parking lot to defend against a knife-attack. It worked very well as intended, and the attack stopped before anything got lethal.

Best,

Brian.

Hopefully, I will get a Matriarch and Civvie soon. The Matriarch would get use, but the Civvie would sit at home. Unfortunately for me though, my semester starts the 27th and I get to be broke again. Gee, I love going to SLU.

I recently picked up a carbon fiber, serrated, left handed Civilian, stamped #104V. It's more than reasonably sharp, but it's strictly for showing, not blowing. I intend one day to get a little display frame for it, but for now it sits quietly in it's zipper case.

I've had my G-10 serrated now for several months and still can't force myself to put it to use. Very sweet!!!

I keep my old Aluminum one locked up. I often carry my modified CF version in a neck sheath. One of the NASTIEST self inflicted cuts was the results of opening a beer bottle cap with my open Civilian. DUMB DUMB DUMB, I still have the mark on top of my finger, you can see the serration pattern :(
