Sifu,

Very nice.

I am also way into Spydies right now.

I have an Endura and a Q enroute.

I just received my Calypso Jr. about a week or so ago.

There is nothing better than coming home from work and seeing a box on the counter.

Ok, maybe there are a few things that are better.......but not many.:D

be safe,
Magilla

Guys- I'm on about my 140th Spydie and its still hard to wait for the UPS guy. hehe. Keep on buying and enjoy.

The bad thing about Spydie fever is that there is no known cure. Once you get it, you have it for life. It isn't often fatal, although it can be if you are married.

I took my wife to the Blade show this year. We went to the Spyderco booth. She asked me "which one is Sal Glesser?" I pointed him out and said "Why?" to which she replied "I wanted to see who was getting all of our money."

Working for Spyderco would be my dream job. Of course from her viewpoint Spyderco works for me. ;)

I keep telling myself "NO NEW KNIVES!! NO! NO! I SAID NOOO!!!!"

I'm successfully resisting Mike Turber's $49.99 deal on a 154cm EDC. Real proud of myself, since people seem to love those things.

Of course, I just ordered a Wayne Goddard LW from 1SKS a day or two ago...:D

Until 1993, I had no Spydies.

From 1993 to about five or six months ago, I had one, my Endura.

Since I've lurked and been here, I've bought five more. That's in the past half-year!

And one more on the way!

It's hopeless.

Well, thankfully, am finding my temperature reduced somewhat. The reason is the high regard in which I hold 3 for sure, maybe 4 of my Spydies.

I pulled my Sebenza out of my strong-side pocket and put it in a belt sheath, so I could carry the Wegner and my CRKT Apache. I couldn't stand not being able to carry one or the other, and I'm too afraid of being ripped off to leave the Sebenza behind.

As I've posted before, my used Native replaced my Goddard Ltwt in my weak side pocket, just as soon as I could switch the clip. I still really like the Goddard tho, enough that I'm willing on some occasions to go with the Goddard in my left pocket and my Calypso Jr. Ltwt in my right. I just hope if the you know what hits the you know what I'll remember to switch my cane to my right hand. Much as I like the little Calypso, it isn't my idea of a self-defense weapon, except as a last resort. A very sharp last resort.

Anyhow, I've reached a point of affection/trust in the Wegner and Apache that I'm really not much interested in carrying any other knife in my right pocket. The drawer full of knives that I play with by the PC is getting too full, also. I'm thinking that after just a few more, I can quit buying Spydies. Really!

Incoming is my 2nd G-10 harpy (I'm thinking of getting it Recuperized). :D
Also, recently picked up:
a Calypso in VG-10, spyderedge
my 1st G-10 harpy
a stainless steel handled harpy [I satin finished the handles]
2 delicas [black and pink, ATS-55], spyderedge
black handled Matriarch
Ladybug 2
And, of course, my G-10 Navigator, the 1st Spyderco I purchased.

I think that's all [for the moment, anyway] :) They certainly can become an addiction. :D :D

My first Spyderco was a 50/50 Endura, which I sold to help buy my Military. Within the next few weeks, I plan to buy either a Starmate or a Chinook. Spydercos are so addicting...Once you get one, there's no going back. After you get used to "the hole", all other opening methods seem primitive.

Fortunately I don't have spydie fever. I say fortunately because it saves me a lot of money. ;) I don't like the designs of 90% of Spyderco knives. I do think they are incredibly good quality pieces, with very very good fit and finish, and very functional designs. Also, I'm extremely impressed with how Sal pays so much attention to his customers, that's not only rare but virtually non-existant in other production companies. However, most of them simply don't appeal to me.

On my list to buy right now are a shell inlay vesuvius, starmate, and a stainless steel endura. Not necessarily in that order. I'd have to say my favorite spyderco knife is the "Q". It's such a distinctive knife. Too bad it's discontinued.

I too am jumping from foot to foot like a small child waiting for my Spyderco delivery, Two Lum Chinese, Chinook, Military, Toad, Gunting Trainer, Spyderwrench, & a Shabaria. I just can't wait! One Lum Chinese and the Toad are for a friend, he is also excited. To say the least... ;)

I just bought a Wegner Mouse from Bladeart.com and needless to say, I'm VERY excited! This purchase just coming after a full size Wegner and a Delica within the past week. I'm glad I have plenty of scholarships! Otherwise, school would have to wait!!!!

Hey DePaul, I'm just a po rentacop and I can't afford to buy many more!

And Jazzman, SCHOOL'S OVERRATED!! Especially when you don't seem to own a Native! I swear they handle better than my Delicas. I love my colored Delicas, but I'll be on the lookout for more Natives...

Hey Sal, how about colored FRN Natives?

Karl

I just got my first Spydie yesterday but as much as Karl's talking up the Native I may wind up buying another here soon... Oh well, I have self control, I should be able to avoid the addiction that is demonstrated in this thread... I hope:D

well the gunting arrived thursday, and the LUM shouyld arrive monday - still excited too - this is fun lol

The other day I decided to count in my head from memory how many Spydies I own. I think it came out to something like 23 or 24! And I got my first Spydie (an old-style Delica) in November 1997. That's more knives than I own from any other company, although I think my number of Victorinox's may run a close second.

I am starting to wind down on my knife buys. Although as they say, "never say never again," from now on, my knife buys will be few and far between, I own too many knives but like or love each of them. :) It also doesn't help to be strapped for money at present.
