Recommendation? Spydie Hole needed

Mangearusa made mine... I got it second hand tho. I believe they were shutdown by Spyderco but maybe I'm remembering wrong... But I seem to remember they went after several companies that were modding CRKs.

chris was talking about the type of flick where you put a lot of wrist into it and it slams open. Which you would have to do about 10,000 times to break damage the stop pin.
IIRC, there were reports of people who had owned knives for short periods of time with little use, who sent knives in for warranty for play, and he refused to cover because he claimed the knives had been flicked open. I don’t have a sebbie and have zero experience with the company, so take it for what it’s worth.

Can you try sneaking it into Spyderco, and find a sympathetic

I’m no attorney but how can CRK go after another company for drilling a hole in an individuals knife? Would it not be the same as all the car mod companies out there modding everything under the sun… sure it voids warranties but it’s the customers decision to have the mod done. I’m well aware that attorneys can make up nearly anything to sue another company or person.

Spyderco is well within their rights to go after people using their trademarked round hole without permission.

Oooohhhhh, completely get that. Let’s trademark a hole!!!!! Can I have an oval drilled or will they come after me? I do believe in protecting trademarks and inventions. Just joking a bit.

Any shape but round is fine👍
So how does this work with Benchmade having holes? I have a Skirmish from about 15 years ago that has a “Spyderco” hole. Also, there’s the griptillian that has the spydie hole too. Seriously asking.

They requested and received permission from spyderco to use it, it's called licensing.

CRK would not have any problem (other than the warranty) with people doing mods of the their own knife. They might have a problem with the companies that were marketing and selling moded knives(not just the mod work) to the general public, People buy them thinking they are CRK products and when they find out they are not covered get mad at CRK. This would hurt CRK's reputation.
but you can mod your own knife to your hearts content

I gotta admit: this looks as if somebody "snuck over the fence" one late evening...
Check the DNA!
